After a few days off visiting our wonderful friends in Munich, checking out the many Christmas Markets and exploring the city, it was lovely to return back to Whitehouse Farm Oast and find that the sheep had not completely forgotten me. Tristram and Freya held the fort, and thankfully the sheep did not cause too much mayhem while I was away.
My new best friend is Ivy, named to celebrate Christmas and symbolise her qualities of dependence, endurance and faithfulness. She is the first to greet me in the morning, and seems to prefer eating out of my hand than the bucket.
Dandelion appears to be recovering, though her eye remains slightly milky near the upper lid. She is cautious around us, making it difficult to approach her. Hopefully, the sunshine aids her full recovery. Staying close to the flock seems promising, and she can definitely see, given how quickly she reacts when she notices us approaching!
We have been enjoying the start of the holidays to help look after our neighbour's friendly chickens, finishing planting the broad beans and garlic. Lottie has also been catching up on some rest in between the Christmas Parties.
After a year, our journey at Whitehouse Farm Oast has been unforgettable, enjoyable, and quite scary! We are immensely thankful to the friends and family who visited us in 2025. Their encouragement and assistance have been invaluable, helping with numerous tasks such as chopping wood, picking fruit, moving muck, climbing ladders, building compost bays and even repairing a leaky roof.

And to ewe all đđđđ
